Asin Woodcarvers Village

Wood carving has been a source of livelihood in many parts of Baguio City. The Asin WoodCarver’s Village is where the veterans and even starting woodcarvers carve as the source of their livelihood, a routine, and an art. Baguio has been able to nurture the tradition throughout the years. Weaving and wood carving have always been present in Asin WoodCarver’s Village. There are no sure solutions as to how we can involve others to make wood carving but programs are available for young learners.

It is said that the Ifugao woodcarvers are the best in history among the Cordillerans and have shown well in their crafts the roadmaps of Baguio’s culture and traditions. Empires or centers of power, shared ethnic origins, and groupings of religions are also evident in the crafts that make you appreciate the culture of Baguio.

A primary goal of Asin WoodCarver’s village is to show religious icons and rich cultural heritage of Cordillerans throughout the years. Key chains, furniture, signboards, and other wall decorations are displayed in the place. The best season to visit here is during summer.
