A Celebration of Culture & Creativity
In 2004, the UNESCO or United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization established UCCN or United Creative Cities Network— an international program created to promote public participation in the promotion of various cities. Baguio City, known for its cool climate and pine trees, became the 181st member of UCCN on October 31, 2017.
It is noteworthy that Baguio is not just a creative and beautiful tourist destination but also a place where culture creates a “vision of desired future.” With the programs for the urban development of Baguio, community-based participations are unmeasurable. Sustainable urban development is the main focus of Baguio’s initiatives. Cleanliness, Reforestation, Research of big universities or Academic Institutions, Crafts and Folk Arts Preservation are proof of Baguio’s Culture and Creativity. Several engines for Baguio’s growth and development continue at their pace that so much has been done and innovated.
Culture and Creativity in Baguio tends to sweep the world without borders, with the creation of Baguio Creative City Council, Creative Hubs, Baguio Creative City Festival, and Creative Activities for Capacity Building of Artists and Artisans.

About the Logo
As an inspiration from the previous logo of Creative Baguio made by the National Artist for Painting Benedicto Cabrera, the logo establishes the mountains of Cordillera and the colors of the Philippine flag. Also, the triangular shape that portrays the Cordilleran mountains builds a story of how the United Nations Educational, Scientific and Cultural Organization (UNESCO) recognized folk art, design, film, gastronomy, literature, media arts, and music into a Creative Cities network.
It has been an honor for Baguio to be known as one of the Creative Cities of UNESCO; hence, the logo also recognizes the uniqueness of Baguio from other provinces of the Philippines.
